Update # 61

Good Evening,

Jeff's blood culture showed today that the Sepsis was caused by a staph.  It's a common skin bug that everyone has on their skin but since Jeff's immune system is severely suppressed right now, his body could not fight it.

Jeff's fever actually broke for a short time today and went down to 98.8 for a bit.  It then went back over 102 and later came down to around 100.  So things are beginning to look a little better.  He has many days ahead that the high fever will be sticking around.

He even sat up in bed to eat some crackers and Jell-O.  

Jeff was also able to visit with the Rusks today.  Yesterday they just watched him sleep.

He received another unit of platelets today and tomorrow they plan to give him a unit of antibodies.

Your prayers are working to help Jeff recover from this Sepsis.  He still has a ways to go before he's clear of this but we are pleased (as were the doctors today)to see him beginning to do some things.  Thank you for your prayers.
