Update # 73

Good Morning,

Home health came yesterday for Jeff's CBC.  When CG received the faxed results, they were on the phone requesting Jeff come down immediately -- his platelets were extremely low.  So I left school around 1:30 and Jeff and I were on the road by 1:45.  We had to call about 30 minutes out from Costas since they wanted to have the platelets ready when he arrived.  One doctor congratulated (kidding) Jeff for getting that low -- "quite a feat".

Jeff, as predicted, has no infection fighting cells again.  But  his hemoglobin is still pretty good so he feels amazingly well.

Ken and Jeff will return to Costas Monday morning for the regular check-up.  Jeff will probably need blood or platelets that day also.  

Oh, Jeff got a call from Barnes on the 15th saying the donor has had his physical examination.  So we know that phone call with the transplant date is getting closer.  The staff at Costas yesterday was also anxious about when the date will be and the process will begin.
