Update # 118
Day Plus 309
Good Evening,
We are finally receiving long overdue rain. Our temperatures will be getting cooler and the leaves are slowly turning colors.
Ken and I enjoyed our mini vacation last weekend in Waterloo with Jeff. They have received more than enough rain and their temps are much cooler. The leaves were not quite at their peak but turning colors.
We noticed that Jeff seemed to have more energy. His eyes looked better than when I saw him in September and he continues with the two kinds of daily drops.
On the 15th, Jeff had his monthly port flush and the blood draw requested by Dr. DiPersio. Today, we received a fax of the counts. Things are basically the same. The white count was again up a tad but that can fluctuate and may be related to the eye inflammation. That red count still has not hit the normal range yet but remains almost there. The other counts are about like the August test.
I forgot to mention in the September update that Jeff's one-year appointment in StL was changed from Dec. 10th to Dec. 17th. Dr. DiPersio will be out of town so all tests were rescheduled for the 17th. I will wait a few days after that to update so all tests results are completed.
It was amazing to see the "Day Plus 300" mark last week for Jeff. It was about this time last year when Jeff began getting out for a few short weeks before the transplant. We all enjoyed that calm period before those unknown weeks of a life-changing event. Eight more weeks until the actual one-year anniversary date of 12-12!
We continue to ask for your prayers for Jeff's healing. We are thankful for each day that God grants Jeff health to live in Waterloo and work (still part time) at his station. May God bless each of you in the upcoming Thanksgiving season. We are truly thankful all of you are in our lives.
love,
Marcia
