Update # 115

Day Plus 235

Good Morning,

This will be just a short update to let you know Jeff's life in Waterloo is going well.

The POD was picked up early on Monday the 30th.  By Tuesday evening, we had 99% of Jeff's apartment unpacked, things put away, and items hung on the walls.  He has a couple of small boxes in his computer room and a few electronics in the living room to finish up.  He arranged the apartment very well and it looks great.

Ken returned to Hillsboro on Wednesday the 1st when Jeff left for work.  Early afternoon the cable people returned and, finally, hooked things up for Jeff.  Later that day, Jeff and I were able to meet Dr. Masri, the Waterloo oncologist, for about 5 minutes.  He seems to be very personable.  We were given a tour of this cancer center treatment facility (only 2 minutes from Jeff's apartment) and Jeff also had his port flushed.  Since we were able to meet the doctor, I then returned home on Thursday morning the 2nd.

Jeff works anywhere from 1 1/2 hours to 5 hours a day at KWWL.  Today and tomorrow will be different and exciting.  He will be able to work his old regular Sat. and Sun. directing shifts.  These two days will be longer hours but he's gotten back in the groove quickly.

The lower dosage of Prednisone seems to be working well for Jeff.  Of course, life is calmer again now that he's moved in and working part time.  It will be different for us not being able to notice any daily changes in Jeff.  God may just have to knock on Jeff's head a little harder for Jeff to pay attention to himself.

Our house is a little quieter, the driveway looks funny without Jeff's car -- but we are so grateful this summer vacation was spent unpacking Jeff in Waterloo.  Last year at this time, summer vacation was spent sitting in CG wondering about Jeff's future.  Thanks be to God for blessing Jeff to this point.  We pray He continues to hear and answer all our prayers for Jeff's continued healing.  Thank you all for your loving support.  It has meant the world to have you with us along the way.

Jeff has an appointment in StL with Dr. DiPersio on Aug. 20th.  I'll update again that evening.  Enjoy the rest of your summer.
