Update # 111
Day Plus 178
Good Evening,
Jeff and I had a long day today -- a little over 8 hours at Siteman. But I had the easy part of just sitting while he had to go through the tests.
The labs came back pretty good. That red count rose again on its own. Two different people at church last week even commented how Jeff is starting to get some color in his face.
Today's official "Day 180" bone marrow biopsy went well this morning. Of course, we won't hear anything about the results till next week.
Then we had a few hours till the afternoon tests. We happened to be sitting in the lobby when the Missouri governor signed a bill about health.
Jeff has had a PET Scan and a CT Scan before but this was a first when the two were done together. He had the Pet substance inserted in his arm while he drank the contrast for the CT. Since he was having the PET, the contrast for the CT could not be diluted in something. He said the after taste was like rubber! They did the CT first then proceeded with the PET. Again, we will not know results till next week.
The nurse practitioner had to cancel her appointment for today with Jeff due to a personal issue. She said Jeff was doing well enough and did not need to see another doctor today. Jeff will just wait till his appointment with Dr. DiPersio on June 18th.
Life seems to be going by more quickly. Last weekend, Jeff got together with high school friends again. I finished school on Monday and the three of us took off for a couple of days and enjoyed a visit with Ken's family. The guys had fun doing computer things. Ken left yesterday for Synod Assembly and will return tomorrow. We pray this "normalcy" continues for Jeff.
These next few days though will seem longer since we're waiting for those tests results. We really have no reason to worry about the outcome but it's nice to hear those words.
We keep all of you in our prayers and think of you often. Your support and love is what holds us up during this time. God has blessed us by putting you in our lives.
love,
Marcia
