Update # 181

8 Years

A sunny warm Spring day was also a pretty quiet day for Jeff. He even requested some of the blinds be opened in his room for a while. Jeff watched a couple of shows on TV this afternoon.

We are thankful Jeff is pain free and resting well. The frustration of communicating continued today. He was wanting one of us next to him most of the day rather than over to the side of the room. Jeff enjoyed having Meridith and me massage his arms and legs several times today.

Jeff’s repeated request of the day from every weekend doc that walked through his door – when was the tube coming out. The answer was always the same – tomorrow but the time is unknown. We pray Jeff does not have to wait till late in the day for his surgery.

We ask your prayers for tomorrow be for a successful surgery. Jeff is so ready to have this tube gone -- he’s had enough. Hopefully, a couple of days to have the sedation wear off and Jeff will be able to communicate better. Remember there is no talking, eating, or drinking for 7-10 days.

Each doctor today told Jeff how much better he will be with this tracheostomy. I never thought when I wrote the first update on February 16th, Jeff would still be on the critical list. Jeff so wants to improve and return to his life.

Thanks for your personal prayers and the ones many of you had in your worship services today for Jeff.

love,

Marcia
