Update # 174
8 Years
A quiet lazy Sunday for Jeff and us.
StL received only 4 of the predicted 5-7 inches of snow. Ken checked and he thinks we got about 7 inches at home. My brother and sister-in-law made it back home safely today.
Jeff did have a better night but at one point told Meridith he wanted to get up to move. She explained that he couldn’t so they ended up doing some of his leg exercises – at 3:00 AM.
After several days of not having them, Jeff have a few brief moments of AFib this morning. The current heart meds were enough to get Jeff back into rhythm.
Jeff has been in a completely relaxed mode today. He has slept the majority of the day moving only his feet once in a while. Jeff has responded to questions with a whisper or head nod but has not opened his eyes. Even in this relaxed state, he has done well with the breathing exercises the doctor wanted. He is coughing a bit more and brought up a bit of “gunk”. All good.
After visiting their son here in StL, one of Ken’s cousins and husband stopped by the hospital before heading home. We enjoyed the time together and Jeff whispered to them a couple of times. Thanks for coming.
Meridith only saw the family just as they were leaving. This morning, we had suggested she go to the atrium to hear the StL Symphony Chorus give a 45 minute afternoon concert. We’ve heard the chorus and knew Meridith would enjoy it. And she did.
We had a quiet day watching Jeff rest and heal. Your prayers for his recovery are very meaningful to us. A new month hopefully gets Jeff closer to getting back on his feet. Thanks again for all you do.
love,
Marcia
