Update #51
Hi,
Not much going on here. Same old, same old,-- which really is good. Jeff feels fine and looks good. His counts rise a little then fall again.
Dr. Gauvain says Jeff's next biopsy will be on Monday the 21st. We'll probably get the results sometime on Tuesday so I'll email next Tuesday or Wednesday.
Mike and Haupts enjoyed their time at the Amana Colonies last Sunday. I think they all bought a little something. Mike and I loved the hat Trevor bought -- it's like the one our grandfather used to wear!
The POD arrived at Jeff's apartment on Monday at 7:45AM. At 9:00 AM, 6 people from the church showed up to help Mike and Haupts load it. They were all finished by 11:30 -- except Ken forgot Jeff's patio chairs and tables. (We said we'd get him new when he needs them.) Ken said everyone did great work!!! So Ken and Haupts drove on to Hillsboro and got home around 6:30PM. Mike drove Jeff's car down.
Tuesday the Haupts rode with Ken down to CG to visit with Jeff for the day. He enjoyed the time with them. They brought their Washington,D.C. vacation pictures so we all had fun discussing places we had mutually visited. That evening, I drove Haupts back to Hillsboro.
Haupts left Wednesday morning for their Chicago home and I went to school to do a little more work. I also worked at school again Thursday morning.
I returned to StL Thursday afternoon and then Ken drove home to Hillsboro. Sunday afternoon, we will switch places again. I plan to work all next week in Hillsboro. I told Ken it would really help if I could be there the entire first week of school. He'll bring his laptop to CG and do some church work there.
Now a little info on the other boys in the unit. Little Josh's biopsy still showed Leukemia so he begins his second chemo round on Monday. Levi is still down in ICU but improves a tiny bit each day. Little Robbie is doing pretty well from his transplant but did have a fever for a few days. We all hate that word "fever". So our little family back here continues with ups and downs but we all pray for each other and know that others remember all 4 boys.
Thanks for being some of the people who pray for us. We do feel your presence. Know that we keep you in our thoughts and prayers, too.
love,
Marcia
