Update # 99

Day Plus 83

Good Evening,

Siteman was extremely busy today and all areas were backed up.  We had to wait for labs, appointment and treatment.

Jeff's white count was up a little bit and the red was about its usual place for the non-blood transfusion week.  We have not yet heard about the anti-rejection med level.  We saw the nurse practitioner even back in the treatment area talking to a patient so we know she had little time and will probably call us tomorrow with the result.

She said Jeff's lungs sounded good.  They want to do an extra day of those 2 antibiotics so we have a dose tonight plus 2 doses tomorrow to finish at home.  She really stressed to watch for recurrence when these antibiotics end.  Apparently, he would definitely be in-patient if symptoms return.

They will not even discuss the removal of the trifusion until Jeff is clear of infection for 2 weeks.  So that date is put on hold.

Jeff spends most of his time sleeping.  The Benadryl he takes to keep the one antibiotic from itching makes him sleepy.  He says he does feel better than last week.

So we pray these drugs have kicked the pneumonia out of him and will not return.  Thanks for your continued help with the prayers.  They are working.

Next Monday is a Dr. DiPersio day and a blood day so we know that day will for sure be long.  I'll update again that night.

Thanks for all you do.

love,

Marcia
