Update # 105

Day Plus 118

Good Afternoon,

Jeff and I had a short day.  He only had lab work at 10:00 AM and the nurse practitioner came out to the lobby to say we did not have to stay for the results.  She said Jeff looked good and things should be fine till Friday.

Our local doctor's office called today and said the cultures from last Tuesday came back just fine.

Iowa welcomed Jeff back with wide open arms!  Now the weather did not have to be quite so wintry but Jeff said it felt like normal.  Jeff packed a lot of visits into his two days in Waterloo.  He spent a few hours seeing friends at his apartment complex.  One day he had lunch with other friends.  Most of Thursday was spent at KWWL seeing his boss and all his friends and fellow co-workers.  Jeff was even able to direct the last "block" of the 10 o'clock newscast that evening.  My, that certainly made him even more anxious to return to work!  Friday, he visited with his apartment manager and then another friend before spending most of the day with friends from Wartburg.  Jeff was so thankful that it worked out to travel to Waterloo.  Nine months of not seeing those people was far too long for him.

Jeff is worn out and tired from the trip.  He slept most of the way home on Saturday and he has been resting each afternoon since we returned.  He knows when he does go back up north, he'll have to make sure he paces himself.  Of course, he said when that blood "flips" and he starts making red blood cells again, he'll have more energy.

So, thank you, Iowa friends, for making Jeff's trip a huge success.  We pray the next time will be a permanent return to Waterloo.

I hope all of you had a wonderful Easter.  Ours was quiet at home but very thankful that God has permitted Jeff to be at this point in his recovery.  Thanks again for all your prayers, love, and support.  I'll update again Friday night after the two appointments.

love,

Marcia
