Update # 205
25 days till 9 years
Good Evening,
First of all, we continue our prayers for the people of France. And that our world unite with respect of others.
Sorry about this update not coming out till today. For some strange reason, my computer would not let it be sent yesterday.
I'll fill you in on the end of Jeff's hospital time. Before his discharge on Tuesday the 10th, he had more blood work, another chest x-ray, and another flu test. The infectious doctor wanted to double check everything. Finally at 2:30 pm, Jeff was out the door and home a few minutes later. He had 2 oral antibiotics for 7 days plus a home breathing treatment.
When he left the hospital, Jeff had 2 scripts for blood work and chest x-ray plus 2 doctor's appointments scheduled for today.
Jeff had intended to return to work on Wednesday, but took the suggestion to rest a day at home. He then went back to work on Thursday the 12th.
After keeping a watch on the weather forecasts, it looked like I could leave Waterloo Wednesday morning before the rain/storms began and arrive home before the rain/storms started. I had a dry drive with a little sun in some spots. I'm glad I drove Wednesday since the winds were much stronger on Thursday.
Friday before work, Jeff had the blood work done. Yesterday, he went for the chest x-ray. His first appointment this morning was with the infectious doctor. She said the immunity test showed Jeff's count is normal so no need for the IVIG. She said the x-ray still showed a little in the lungs but she was not worried. And Jeff's white count is back to normal.
One thing she did today was give Jeff a pneumonia shot. Now please understand this will not necessarily solve Jeff's pneumonia problems. This shot only covers 13 of the 90 pneumococcal bacterias that cause pneumonia. Then there are pneumonias caused by fungi (2011 pneumonia was multi-focal)-- not covered by any shot. Plus we all know pneumonias caused by a virus -- not covered by any shot -- like that dreaded RSV. CAP, community acquired pneumonia, means Jeff can pick up any germ, bug, virus that's in the air in any building or even outside.
The 2nd doctor's appointment this AM was with the doctor who saw Jeff when he was admitted to the hospital. (remember his family doc is on maternity leave) She was able to see how he has improved this week.
We are most thankful for these dedicated physicians who help to keep Jeff healthy. So many of you are dedicated in keeping Jeff forefront in your prayers. Our thanks can't compare to your dedication.
I truly have no idea when the next update might occur. I personally pray it will be quite a long while. Enjoy a wonderful Thanksgiving. We will give thanks to the Lord and give thanks that each of you make our lives rich with joy.
love, Marcia
