Update #217
HOME!!!!!!!!! Wow!!! Surprise!!!
Quickest discharge in Jeff's 19 years of hospitalizations. 12:39 pm first notice of possible discharge. 1:10 pm Doc comes in to say it's official. 1:41 pm nurse comes to room with wheelchair. 1:57 pm Jeff is home.
A nurse came to the room at 12:30 pm to have Jeff do a road test. He had to walkaround the room without any medical assistance.
1:10 pm a doctor came in to say he, the infectious doc, and the pulmonologist discussed Jeff. They agreed he has done very well with only 3 doses of Remdesivir. Each day he has improved with no fever. Lungs are good. So sit at home and continue to quarantine.
1:22 the nurse returns to remove the IV line. Jeff then packs, dresses for home and buzzes her to return with wheelchair.
Meridith is wearing a mask at home since she has not yet completed her quarantine or been tested. She has heard from the testing site to come Friday at 1:10 pm to drive thru. Not sure when she'll receive her result.
Jeff will remain at home for an undetermined amount of time. The slight cough will continue for 4-6 weeks. That's the usual amount of time after one of his pneumonias -- with a much stronger cough.
None of us can believe that this update is happening today. God has blessed Jeff wilh surviving this COVID-19. We are most thankful. Another miracle has been given to Jeff. Your power prayers have yet again helped Jeff with a remarkable recovery. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
I am not sure when I will write another update. We will continue to watch Jeff's recovery. I hope to do one last one when he's feels he is back to normal life. For the time being, no new is good news.
May God continue to bless each one of you. We are blessed with all of you in our lives.
With our love and thanks,
Jeff, Meridith, Ken, Marcia
