Update # 143
52 months
Good Evening,
Happy Spring! I assume most of you are just as glad as we are that the crazy winter is over. We had plenty of snow and far too much ice. We've lived in Hillsboro 20 years and used a record 10 snow days at school.
Jeff had a pretty good winter. The beginning of February he had some head congestion and a cough that he needed to see a doctor and get some antibiotics.
Also in February, Jeff had another of his scheduled phlebotomies. Dr. DiPersio had changed these to every 3 months. The counts remained about the same so hopefully 3 months will work out well. The next phlebotomy will be May 3rd.
His eye appointment today in Iowa City went very well. Jeff and Meridith had quite a wait though but Dr. Wagoner was again pleased with Jeff's eyes. Jeff continues with the daily pill. The 4 month schedule will remain in place but busy schedules puts Jeff's next appointment on September 6th.
Schedules at KWWL are changing so Jeff will now have his days off on Monday and Tuesday instead of Thursday and Friday. He also will have more directing hours and less Master Control hours. Jeff was pleased to find that he will not need to work the early Sunday morning show. Working late Saturday night and returning a few hours later for Sunday morning seemed to be the greatest problem for Jeff's eyes. The new hours and days will begin the last week of April.
In March, Jeff began going to a new dentist. He is very happy with the plan this dentist has for hopefully stopping the decay of Jeff's teeth and then beginning some restructuring. The actual work will begin on April 21st. Jeff is also to meet with an oral surgeon that day for a consult to set up a time to remove some teeth. This will probably take place in May. I still have some sick days to use and hope to be able to go up to Iowa the week of surgery.
Jeff's StL appointment is June 20th. He and Meridith plan to take some vacation time and we'll all spend a few days together in Missouri. We'll have our laptop with us but I'm not exactly sure which day I'll be sending out that update.
I can't believe this is the first update of 2011. We are so thankful to God and all of you for still supporting Jeff with your prayers and love. He continues to live the life he loves. May you all enjoy a Glorious Easter celebration.
love,
Marcia
