Update # 138

37 months

Good Evening,

Welcome to a new decade!  I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.  We were able to drive to Iowa right after Christmas for a few days and enjoy some time with Jeff and Meridith.  Ken's brother also came and was able to see the area and watch Jeff direct the news.  A new downtown Cajun restaurant was the location Jeff picked to celebrate his birthday.  Waterloo had plenty of snow and we were fortunate to head back home before their extreme cold temperatures of minus teens with wind chills in the minus 30's began.

One of the days we were there, brought an answer to a long requested prayer.  As of Jan. 1st, Jeff is back full time at the station!  His hours slowly increased and his benefits started again.  Insurance will take effect the beginning of April.  This good news though is also bad news.  Nine of Jeff's co-worker/friends are being laid off in April.  This is due to the company's owners purchasing new equipment which will do the work of sound, video, and camera people.  The remaining directors have already begun some training and the new equipment should be running after Easter.  We ask you remember these 9 coworkers and their families in your prayers.  They have been good friends of Jeff's since he started working at the station part time in college.

Jeff and Meridith drove to Iowa City this afternoon for his regular eye appointment.  Dr. Wagoner said his eyes look pretty good but told Jeff to be consistent with the daily warm compresses and eye drops.  He is also to continue the pill he takes.  The next 3-month check up is scheduled for April 29th.

I know some of you have had some unusual snows this winter and very cold temperatures.  Each day gets us closer to warm Spring weather, right?

Hopefully, life will remain calm for Jeff and I won't need to update till the end of April.  We keep all of you in our prayers along with Jeff's donor, Matt and his troops in Afghanistan.  May 2010 be prosperous for you as God continues His love and protection of us all.

love,

Marcia
