You may remember that I asked you to keep Jason, a college friend/co-worker of Jeff's, in your prayers. I spoke with Jason last Saturday evening and he said he has completed his chemo and radiation treatments. He is doing well and is now in the period of regaining his strength. Jason said he appreciated the prayers.
Life is going well for Jeff. I have not had to do a medical update since July. His eye appointment yesterday in Iowa City went well. Dr. Wagoner was very pleased and said things look great. The next appointment is for Jan. 28th.
Ken and I took a couple of small trips this Fall. One was to meet Joshua, the little baby brother of Jeff and Meridith's flower girl Abby, who was born on July 28th. It was fun to see everyone again.
School and church keep us busy. I commented to Ken that I know Jeff is doing very well since I have not had to use a sick day so far this year. I am very thankful for that.
Ken's mom felt it was time for her to enter a nursing home and made the decision to return to Perryville. Ken's brother, Dennis, moved her down there on Oct. 13th. While I drove to Iowa on the 17th, Ken drove to Missouri to visit his mom and see her new home. She is happy to be around family (her brother lives there also) and people she worked with at the shoe factory. We plan to go down for a couple of days at Thanksgiving.
Jeff's next doctor's appointment is in StL on Dec. 7th for the big 3-year post-transplant visit. Besides the normal lab work and Dr. DiPersio exam, a bone density scan is scheduled. We don't know yet when Jeff and Meridith will come down or return home, so I'm not sure of exactly when I'll send that update.
We pray all of you are doing well. It seems illnesses have come early to our part of the world. We daily remember you and are very thankful to count you all as friends. Stay safe and healthy. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
love,
Marcia
