Update # 135
31 months
Good Evening,
Greetings from Iowa! Ken and I arrived yesterday in Waterloo for a week's vacation. Their weather has been just as pleasant as ours -- not a typical July.
Ken and I drove Jeff to Iowa City today for his eye appointment since Meridith had to work. She is getting ready for the county fair which begins next Tuesday. We plan to attend opening night.
Dr. Wagoner was again pleased with Jeff's eyes. He said things look healthy. Jeff is to continue with that one pill and return in 3 months, Oct. 22nd, for his routine check-up. I noticed Jeff's eyes looked very good yesterday. The sun today did bother him so he tries to be careful.
After Jeff left IL back in June, Ken and I took off for a long-awaited 2-week vacation. We took a southern route to VA where we spent the majority of our time in Colonial Williamsburg (loved it). One day was spent up in Richmond where Gary and Mary Jo showed us the city. Remember, they are the parents of Matt, Jeff's donor. It was wonderful to enjoy more time with them. We were able to view their June pictures from Europe when they had gone over to see Matt's new post. We eventually had to return home and drove a northern route back to IL.
Jeff's friend/co-worker, who is being treated for Hodgkin's, is doing very well. We appreciated your prayers. We know of another man, Fred who has Lymphomas, that we also ask to include in your prayers.
All of you have been so faithful in your prayers, especially for Jeff, for what will be 8 years this Sunday. It is quite remarkable to see the ups and downs, the uncertainties and the joys of Jeff's journey. We thank you for continuing to be by his side and also including others along the way. Please know that we remember each of you daily in our prayers. God has blessed us abundantly with your friendship and love.
Hopefully, Jeff will continue to do well medically and I won't need to update you until Oct. Enjoy the rest of your summer and the beginning of Fall.
love,
Marcia
