Good Evening,
We are most pleased to announce some additions to our family -- Matt and his family. Jeff and his donor, Matt, have emailed with more information about each other so we are now able to share with you some of that.
Get ready for some amazing things!
Matt and his wife, Marcia (great spelling don't you think?) have one daughter in college. He is in the military and currently stationed in Hawaii. Back in 2003-2004, Matt signed up to be a donor while in Leavenworth, KS. In 2006 when he was requested to be a donor, they were stationed in Japan. Matt said he had some tests in Japan and did phone interviews. But when the time came for the actual donation process, he had to travel to Washington, D. C. It wasn't all that bad since his parents live 30 minutes from D. C. and he was able to stay with them.
No, Matt had no expense for his part. He had signed up through the Dept. of Defense which has a marrow site and covers things.
These last couple of days, we've had the opportunity to email with Matt and his parents. The families are also similar due to one of Matt's brothers having endured various medical problems. We all understand what each has gone through, experienced miracles, and know we cannot make it without God and our friends. So I request you now include Matt and family in your prayers as part of our family.
Yes, Matt is willing to meet in person. Now we'll have to coordinate a time in the future but it will be after Jeff eventually gets full time so he'll have vacation days. Next summer sounds great to me!
Thank you all for your prayers regarding the donor. We've heard from him and his family, he's willing to meet Jeff and us, and we are again blessed with new wonderful people in our lives. God continues to shower Jeff and us with love beyond compare. Your love and support is astounding.
love,
Marcia
