Update # 38

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

We hope all of you rang in the new year with health, joy, and peace.  My brother Michael and his family have been here since Sunday so we had an evening of food, fun, and celebration.

Some of you do not know but Jeff started a part-time job off campus on November 18th.  He is a production assistant at the NBC affiliate, KWWL, in Waterloo.  He works on Monday mornings, Wednesday nights, and Saturday mornings for a total of 15 hours a week.  This does not interfere with his classes.  He is in seventh heaven doing the background work for the news shows.  I mention this because since this job is not connected with the college he did not get college vacation as usual.  Jeff did not make it home for Thanksgiving and was only home two days at Christmas.

Of course on the morning of one of those days, Jeff and I headed to Cardinal Glennon for testing.  We were very pleased to see the new addition open.  Now they are in the process of remodeling the older section.  All of the rooms will now become private rooms for the kids.  The only test Dr. Chu scheduled for Jeff was a CT Scan.  Since Jeff is doing so well, he felt everything else could wait till Jeff's second anniversary testing.  We also had to see Dr. Norton, the radiation oncologist, for the six month check-up.  Everything was ok there.

Ken and I headed to Iowa on Monday the 29th.  We spent Jeff's birthday, Tuesday the 30th, with him.  Of course a tour of "7" in Waterloo was on the list of things to do!!!

Right before we got to the mall for shopping, Dr. Chu called with the CT Scan report.  With Christmas, results were slow in coming.  The scan showed no change.  Dr. Chu is very pleased and so are we.   Jeff's anniversary is Feb. 21st.  He has midterm break the first week of March.  We'll set up a day around his work schedule for that day of testing.

We continue to thank God for all of you and your prayers. You and they truly have been a blessing in our lives.  Have a joyous and prosperous new year!!!

Love,

Marcia
