Update # 37
Good Afternoon,
Our heat spell has broken for a couple of days. We have to enjoy it quickly since tomorrow it returns. Of course -- school begins!!!
Next Sunday, the 31st, we will be driving to Iowa to help move Jeff in for his sophomore year. We'll unload on Sunday and Monday. Then head over to his storage shed he shared with 4 other guys and get his loft and a few other things. Jeff and Ken will get the loft reassembled and then Ken and I will head home the afternoon of the 1st. Jeff and the rest of the television crew begin work on the 4th. Classes then start on the 9th.
The three of us went to St. Louis on Friday 8-15 for Jeff's second CT Scan of the summer. Dr. Chu just wanted to look at that one node in the chest again. The scan showed no difference. That is what Dr. Chu had figured but he wanted a couple of other people to look at the scan also and we're glad he likes to be so thorough. So all is well and we'll return to Costas over Christmas vacation. Yesterday the new addition at Cardinal Glennon opened. A former patient (one girl who Jeff met early in his diagnosis) helped to cut the "bandaid" for the grand opening. Now the old part of Cardinal Glennon will be renovated. Those of you who visited Jeff when he was an in-patient might be interested to know all those old rooms will now be made into private rooms for each child.
We thank all of you for your prayers for Jeff. We feel the support you give to all of us. We pray all is well with you and your families. Have a wonderful Fall and winter holidays. With tests over Christmas, the next update sent will probably be in January. God's blessings to each one of you special people.
Love,
Marcia
