Update # 28
Good Afternoon,
Yes, this is Friday and you are getting your weekly update. Most of you know Jeff is the Lt. Gov. of Division 30 for Key Club. He has board meetings every so often. This weekend is a big one with Kiwanis up in Moline. He leaves this afternoon and returns Sunday afternoon. Since he is still in radiation, I also am going to Moline for the weekend. Flu has hit the junior high tremendously and the high school some less. Our grade school has so far been spared. Jeff feels great but if some side effect does decide to begin or the flu hits him, he would be four hours away. That would be an 8 or 9 hour trip to go and get him. I have a room about 5 miles south of where Jeff's meeting will be held and close to one of the malls. I'll drop him off in Springfield this afternoon for him to travel with his regular group. We'll meet up again on Sunday. I have papers to grade plus a couple of books to read for pleasure. Ken has to work this weekend any way.
Jeff had his five doses of radiation this week. Still no side effects as I said earlier. Dr. Roy wanted a CBC this week. White count and platelets were down a little but it is to be expected during radiation. Dr. Roy is still pleased that nothing bothers Jeff. Four more doses next week will finish things up.
Except for today, Jeff went to school every day after radiation. He is also starting to figure out the lighting for the school musical. Life is going well for him.
I need to finish ironing so Jeff can pack his things. Mine is much easier - jeans and sweatshirts! We hope everyone had a great Valentine's Day. Talk to you next week after radiation is finished. Thanks for you continued prayers.
Love,
Marcia
