Update # 20

Good Morning,

We had a good week.  Jeff had radiation # 5 and 6 on Monday and Tuesday.  Jeff calls them "zap and go" days.  Wednesday Dr. Roy wanted a CT Scan after # 7 to check the lungs.  The CT Scan was in the middle of the day so most of the day was spent at SLUH.  Dr. Roy will tell us next week if he will change the blocking around the lungs.  He said he might cover up a little more of them.  Jeff has no side effects so far from the radiation.  Dr. Roy was pleased and suggested a little time off so we did not have to go Thursday or Friday or Monday.  We even get to mark on Jeff with a Sharpie to keep his lines visible!!!  Doses # 8 - 14 will begin on Wednesday, the 26th.  Dr. Roy said he will probably have Jeff rest 4 weeks before he starts the second round of radiation.  So we estimate that should be February.

Jeff missed only the first 2 hours of school on Monday and Tuesday.  He even stayed after on Tuesday to do some catch up.  Wednesday he went to school for 2 hours before we left for SLUH.  Then Thursday and Friday he was able to be there all day.

Like I said, Jeff feels great.  He had some friends come over last night for a Christmas party.  Wednesday we even stopped by 4 North and Costas to give them a small Christmas present.  Every day we see more hair growing on his body.  Overall, it was a quiet week.  Merry Christmas to all.  Thanks for the continued prayers.

Love,

Marcia
