Update # 13

Good Morning,

Hopefully, this was our last up and down week.  This second week has lately been throat sores and they just had to come this one last time.

Sunday was a good day and Jeff helped Key Club with a food drive in the early part of the afternoon.  Then he went to church to set up the spook room for the kids Halloween party that night.  He came home fine but a little tired.  Monday he woke up tired but not sure how he felt.  He went to school but only lasted two hours.  He came home a little after 10:00 with his throat just beginning to feel funny.  He kept up on the Tylenol with Codeine until mid-day Friday.  Wednesday morning he complained the sores were getting worse.  The regular home health visit Wed. afternoon included a CBC and a flu shot.  I left school Wed. as soon as the kids did to wait for the count.  Hgb was down and this time the platelets weren't even considered borderline.  Jeff and I went down Thursday to Costas for 2 pints of blood and 1 unit of platelets.  We kidded Jeff that he just had to get platelets at least once!!  Thursday wasn't totally lost since Kurt Warner, QB for the StL Rams, and his wife Brenda came to visit.  They brought an autographed book, "13" balloon, and a disposable camera.  We had fun introducing them to Gus's pretzels and they told Jeff the good pizza place in Waverly, IA and a great Italian restaurant in Cedar Falls, IA!!!!  Friday Jeff stayed home but his throat started to feel a tiny bit better in the afternoon.  We had planned to take off Friday PM anyway for Jeff's fashion show fitting at Plaza Frontenac.  A group called Friends of Kids With Cancer has a big yearly fund raiser fashion show.  Jeff agreed to be one of the models on Wed. 11-7 at the Ritz-Carleton in Clayton.  Should be loads of fun. We'll let you know.

He is feeling better today and already catching up on last week's homework.  Monday the 12th all tests are scheduled and we hope to go on the 16th for results plus a radiation consult.  Guess that about covers everything.  We all appreciate your love and support you keep sending.  Hugs and kisses to all.

Love,

Marcia
