Update # 9
Good Morning,
Sorry about no update yesterday. It was a good day so we were busy. Jeff felt fine and was able to attend a Key Club event in Springfield from 9:30 till 2:30. He is the area's District Lt. Governor and this is the first event since July that he has been able to attend. They were thrilled to see him. The group had sent him a card and package of stuff when he missed an earlier meeting. As soon as we got home, we changed and went up to church for a wedding. The couple had asked Jeff to camcorder their wedding and knew it would depend on how he was feeling that day. They were pleased to see him and everything went very well. Jeff went home after the ceremony but Ken and I attended the reception.
Chemo week was pretty routine. Outpatient days on Mon., Tues. and Fri. Neupogen shots started on Wed. for this course. Thrush started a little on Tuesday so Swish and Swallow time for a few days. The end of chemo fever came again on Friday afternoon so Jeff took one dose of Tylenol and slept for a while.
Jeff went to school half days on Monday and Tuesday. Wednesday he was even able to stay after school and catch up on one class. Thursday was just a regular day. Friday was teacher's county institute so he missed nothing. I added up days on Friday. Attended = 15 1/2 Missed = 13 1/2 Not too bad so far!!
At the wedding reception last night, we talked with a former member who is a dental hygienist. She was telling us that she has a recipe for a mouth wash for chemo patients when they get mouth sores. It coats the area so they can eat. She said it can also be gargled and swallowed if Jeff would ever happen to get sores in the throat again. She will send it to us next week. Sounds perfect to us!!!
So we basically had a good week. Nothing out of the ordinary. No school tomorrow so we don't plan to leave the house after we get home from church today until 7:30 Tuesday morning!!!
Take care and talk to you next weekend.
Love,
Marcia
