Update # 6

Good Afternoon,

As I said in my quick note Monday night, the biopsy turned out well.  The pathologist still has not heard from the guy he sent it to for more detailed reading.  Official bone marrow result came in and was negative as we all had figured.

The increase of chemo doses bothered Jeff.  He got sick Monday night two times and once on Tuesday afternoon.  He came home tired and went to bed early.  He stayed home from school Wednesday AM due to still being tired.  We went off to work and Jeff slept till 10:00 AM.  Jeff and I went to CG in the PM for outpatient.  Ken took him Thursday AM and Jeff made a few afternoon classes.  First of the week!!  Jeff hit morning classes for the week on Friday and then he and I went down to CG for outpatient chemo.  Jeff is feeling like himself with energy level back up.  We think we have some undershirts rigged up to tie the lumens from the Broviac.  Tape on Jeff's skin is just too irritating.

It was pretty quiet in CG except for some camera crew.  Then they came and asked Jeff if he would participate in some promotion material for a program called "Caps for Kids".  (Jeff has already been contacted and put his request in for Regis Philbin - Jeff loves 'Millionaire'.)  He said sure and the main guys for the promo were retired StL Blues hockey players.  Basil MacRae (#17) and Tony Twist (#18).  They sat, talked, had pics taken, filmed part of it then both signed a Blues cap for Jeff.  Tony Twist kidded Jeff about his NBC Nascar hat and said "all they do is go in circles!"  Tony Twist is certainly cute!!  My comment - not Jeff's!!  Tony was going to St. Louis University High School in a few minutes for a motivational speech.  Tony asked Jeff if he would like to go with him but we were about ready to head out the door for home.

Jeff also agreed to be in a fashion show out in Ladue in November for an organization called "Friends of Kids with Cancer".  They had asked him a few weeks ago and the lady stopped by yesterday for his answer.  What the heck - a free meal at the Ritz-Carlton!!

Someone says he needs the internet!!!  All in all a pretty good week.  Things were a little bit slower than usual with his energy.  School was not attended much due to almost all of chemo on week days this time.  Thanks for all your love, support and especially your prayers.

Love,

Marcia
